Featured Fiction Presents: Cara Putman

Howdy Folks! In the heat and passion of MBT WriMo, the Fraiser contest seems a little far away and forgotten. Today though, we are going to take a look at one of the people who made it possible. Introducing Cara Putman and her new book A Wedding Transpires on Mackinac Island.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your story?

Can the truth set Alanna Stone free?

Attorney Alanna Stone has never forgotten Jonathon Covington–or the pain of his betrayal. In fact, he’s why she’s avoided returning to Mackinac Island. But an exhausting, high profile case and an urgent plea from her parents bring her home. She immediately finds herself thrust into controversy as an unsolved murder once again turns public opinion against her family. Jonathon has been waiting for her return, but the woman he sees now has little in common with the one who left. Will they be able to lay aside the past and let God heal their hearts, or will reconciliation come too late?

P.S.  My family loves escaping to Mackinac Island, so it was a treat to get to write a romance set on the island. Especially when that romance includes mystery and a taste of suspense!

Q: What do you want readers to learn/take away from this story.

As I wrote A Wedding Transpires on Mackinac Island, I  realized the story was really about finding freedom from the lies of the past. It takes great courage to confront the past and its hurt and pain. Yet that is exactly what Alanna is forced to do. I hope that as readers interact with Alanna, they will find the strength to confront the places of pain in their lives and find healing. Ultimately, I pray they will be reminded that the truth will set them free from the pain and it’s worth the journey to find that freedom.
