Catching Up on Blog-a-Book

So…I’ll bet you are wondering where Blog-a-Book went.

Me too.

Well, actually…I know.  IT’S BEEN TRAPPED IN MY BRAIN!  See, one of the Voices asked me recently… “Do you normally write a book by the seat of your pants?”

Uh…NO!  I like a roadmap, a synopsis to work from.  Then I have a sort of  “cheat sheat” to start my day.  I need to know what the end goal is so that I can put in the right clues in the beginning…

HENCE, why the story has been trapped.  Well, that and the fact that I’ve taught at two conferences, a women’s retreat and finished two books (and have a son that’s graduating).  But I assured you that Blog-a-Book is NEVER far my mind.

Keeping me up at night.

Tormenting me with Luke and Kenzie, needing their story told!

I mentioned in my last (centuries ago?) post that I had figured out Luke’s goal…and I did..it’s as easy as…Hiding from the Limelight.  He doesn’t want invaders in his life…yet he wants to be a hero again.  (We all knew this, but somehow I had a hard time visualizing what that looked like…until now).

So…last week and this I sat down and read our chapters, honed them a bit, read all the great brainstorming posts from the VOICES (thank you!!!), wrote the second part of chapter three….and then fleshed out a working synopsis.

I should say that this is my usual play – I usually write the frist three chapters, get a feel fro my character, then wrangle out the story into a synopsis.  I find it easier to know what they’re about before I start summing up their story.  And, then, once I have a synopsis, let the writing begin!

So – go back and read chapters 1-3.1 in the article section.

THEN, tomorrow…read our chapter 3.2!

And finally…in a couple days, the synopsis will be posted…(with some hints as to how to write a great synopsis…) and we’ll start a NEW discussion on what happens in chapter 4!

The story will continue as soon as I get back from Europe (going on a fun book tour! Yay!)  Thanks for hanging in there with MBT Blog-a-Book!
