I love the TV show Gilmore Girls. The writers created such a fantastic story world with Stars Hollow and powered it all with quirky, fast-talking, beautiful Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. But the writers fell into a characterization hole, IMHO, when Rory became too-perfect-to-live. Too good to be true. Every man and his brother, every girl and her sister loved Rory. All who met her believed she hung the moon, stars and visited the Sombrero galaxy while stirring brownie mix for pale-skinned orphans. She was smart. She was beautiful. She was quick and engaging, a repartee’s repartee. She was kind and giving, her mother’s best friend. The girl next door, the one to take home to mom, and dad. She couldn’t golf or run fast, but who cared? What an endearing […]

Building Your Own Facebook Landing Page Using Free Templates
As I’ve mentioned before, a landing page is a critical component for a successful Facebook fan page. Although you may have to invest a couple of hours, it’s well worth the effort. There are several different place you can go to develop your page. The two I’ve found easiest are Wix (www.wix.com) and Pagemodo (http://www.pagemodo.com/?r=free_footer). I wanted the opportunity to try out both and see if one offered a better product than the other. You can visit both pages and see for yourself the two different looks they offered. I found them to be very […]

A year ago, right now, I was flat on my back in bed, in terrible, unabating pain. I had slipped a disk in my neck while shoveling and within hours was in the fetal position. I stayed that way for three weeks, and I am still in weekly therapy to maintain healing. It was then I remembered the testimony of a fellow author who had struggled with devastating life-altering pain and how she coped with it. She praised God. I’ll never forget her words as she told me how she turned her eyes upward in her darkest hour, and despite the absence of any relief before her, she […]
