Meet the Voices: Winter Peck

This week, Meet the Voices, presents Winter Peck. She is an Iowan at heart. At the age of 10 she discovered her talent for composing stories, and a passion was born. She leans heavily on her mid-western roots, her love of the Old West, and the rodeo. Winter is married to a National Guardsman, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Their story during the time of his deployment will be published in the book GOD Strong: A Spiritual Survival Guide for Military Wives, by Sara Horn (Zondervan 2010). She’s the mother of three boys and one cowgirl in training. Musings

Thoughts from the road….   I am finally on my way home.  It’s been two weeks of conferences and family travel (we went to Taylor University to check it out for my oldest son) and as my husband logs hours behind the wheel, I am furiously editing a book.  (while singing Disney songs, which I’ve discovered are greatly motivating).   Occasionally, I Iook up from my computer.  Check out the road, hunt for anything new.  It’s pretty much the same – pavement, cornfields, farms, the occasional trucker.  We zipped through Chicago last night and for a while watched the bright lights against the dark sky.              Then I put my head down again and keep working. You’re back! *grin* Okay, fellow writers, then let’s get busy. Today, as we prep for our journey, I want you to start exercising! We’re going to get in shape! We all have goals, right? Dreams, desires, things that have been niggling at us for years. For writers, it’s the dream of writing a novel.
