Limelight, or Take Another Shot, or Dark Secrets – (Current Working Titles) Synopsis Former Green Beret Luke Alexander just wants to forget his past, and mind his own business in the wood of east Tennessee. And, his park ranger job seems just the solution…until into his world walks a diva movie star looking for someplace to hide. But the Cherokee forest isn’t big enough for the both of them, not if you include the trouble MacKenzie has dragged along behind her. Synopsis of….well, whatever we’re calling our book
The Plotting Roadmap…or scribbles about how I put a book together
The Plotting Roadmap Now that we have three chapters written of our story, I wanted to flesh out the plot to the end so you could see where we want to go. One of the voices asked me – do you always write a story by “the Seat of your Pants?” Uh, NO. I hate that, actually, because it gets me all blocked and wandering the house in a fog. I like having a plan, a roadmap. In my workbook: From the Inside/Out: discover, create and publish the novel in you, I have a plotting roadmap template – and of course explanations of each step in the journey and how to determine them. If you want deeper explanations, you can either pick up the book, or search […]
Read the RestWe have faces and names!
Our hero looks like….Dylan Bruno! (And if you ever want to see this actor in action, check him out on Numbers, Friday nights!) His name is…Luke. I love that name. Jaxon and Caleb came in close seconds…which means, if we can, we’ll use those names for secondary characters. =). Our heroine looks like: Isla Fisher! (If you’re wondering where you’ve seen her face before…check out the new Shopaholic movie!) And her name will be…MacKenzie! We’ll have to see if our hero ends up calling her Mac..or Kenzie…or…??? Mia came in second…she sounds like a good friend for MacKenzie. So, so there we have it….faces, and names for our hero and heroine! In the meantime, don’t forget to hop over to Club Book Therapy and add your VOICE to the Inciting […]
Read the RestFrom the Inside….Out: discover, create and publish the novel in you!
I’m so excited to announce that….I wrote a writing book!! I’ve been wanting to do this for a few years now, a response to so many of the basic, but essential questions that participants in my beginning writer’s workshops ask. How you do you plot? How you develop characters? How you do you pitch a book? What goes into a scene? How do I craft a black moment? And can you help me do it? Yes! And, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming! I believe that writing a book doesn’t have to be agonizing, that it can come from your heart, and still be put inside a framework of proven storytelling. And this book, my method of looking inside for your plot and characters, teaches you how. Here’s a little […]
