When I look at the life of Christ, I see a man who not only lived out the greatest life story ever, but also used stories to reach into the hearts of his followers. As creative types, as storytellers, we have the opportunity to do the same.

Let’s give a great big MBT Shout Out to the following voices for their accomplishments!

Writing is a solitary job that requires a community to help get it done.

Mentoring is more than imparting “just the facts, ma’am.” I can pay to attend a class or a conference or a webinar to learn how to become a better writer. Mentoring involves relationship.

Maybe those slivers are what raise writing to more than art, more than business … to a relationship unlike any other.

Though they were not my typical college audience, they were receptive, permeable, real—like open-mouthed baby birds. How could I not get keep coming?
